PERSHORE’S Construction Racing have won backing from Honda for next year’s tough Cowes to Monte Carlo offshore powerboat race.

The 15-day, 2,400-mile marathon next June has attracted more than 50 outfits from 14 countries.

Construction Racing are headed by husband-and-wife pairing, Marcus and Siobhan Bradshaw.

Marcus said: “We are the only Midlands team and one of just a few from Britain that gained entry into the race.

“To get Honda’s exclusive backing gives us a genuine chance of success and winning a world title.

“The race is an enormous undertaking but will be truly global in the teams we will be competing against.”

In readiness for the race, Construction will attack the ‘Round Ireland’ circumnavigation record in September, which currently stands at 18 hours 39 minutes.
