Hogg still looks for Cancun

A MEXICO trip is in store for Dave Hogg and Edward Litchfield if they can win their Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship regional final.

Puckrup Hall amateur Hogg took his first big step towards the date at the Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort in Cancun from December 4 until 8 when he won his club qualifying competition with a nett score of 65.

With professional Litchfield, he advances to Little Aston on July 13, for one of 16 regional finals where they will play one round of betterball medal play.

The winners at each will secure their place in the finals for the tournament which draws in more than 50,000 competitors from across Great Britain and Ireland in its 28th competitive year. The retired Hogg lives in Tewkesbury, while Litchfield, 45, has been a professional at Puckrup Hall for four years.
