Skipper Mike hits form on big day

EVESHAM seniors captain Mike Abraham’s competition day proved a success with impressive scores, particularly for him.

Results: 1 Peter Edmunds and Abraham 45 stableford points, 2 Alan Bees and Peter Ratledge 40; best back nine holes: 1 Ian Wood and Richard Saville 21.

The seniors beat Tewkesbury Park 6-0.

Abraham and Saville, along with Geoff Burton and Martin Williams and Neil Croft and Edmunds, were all taken to the 18th, but Ian Facer and Alan Groves, Peter Gilbert and Bryan Rogers and Dave Kewley and Ray Smart won comfortably.

􀁥 FORTY-three Vale ladies played a three-ball Alliance and the sixth and fifth medals of the season.

Alliance results: 1 Sheila Gilbert, Liz Brownsden and Shona Rollins 81 points (on count-back), 2 Jan Ledbury, Margaret McCaig and Pat Hird, 3 Jenny Braithwaite, Pat Martin and Jacky Waghorn 80 (on count-back).
