Elmley students ready for HQ visit

ELMLEY Castle First School pupils will be among the stars of the show in Saturday’s Aviva Premiership final at Twickenham.

After winning a regional tag rugby tournament in Worcester, they will enjoy a morning coaching session from World Cup winner Will Greenwood at rugby’s HQ.

Then, at half-time during the final between Harlequins and Leicester, the youngsters take on other schools in front of 80,000 people.

The prize is part of the £2million invested into the grassroots game by the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme.

“We have a very good team who have practised a lot throughout the school year,”

said Elmley Castle head teacher Megan Thomas.

“The children have really taken tag rugby on board and both the boys and the girls have enjoyed it and had great support.”

The Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme is designed to increase participation in the sport. Find out more at avivapremiershiprugby.
