Clarke in funds cry

FORMER Evesham United striker Jamie Clarke is looking for sponsorship to help fund him to play for the Great Britain deaf football squad at the European Championships.

Clarke has been selected in a 23-man squad fighting for the gold medal at the seventh deaf championships, due to take place in Odense, Denmark from June 27 to July 9.

Each GB player needs to raise £1,500 for the competition and Clarke, who has lined up for Bretforton Old Boys in the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League this season, is looking for help.

However, funding has been cut further, even though GB Men have never received financial help from the Government, or the Football Association.
