EVESHAM’S Michelle Parsons continued her preparations for the Powerman USA later this month by winning the ladies race at the Peopleton Duathlon.

The race comprises a reasonably tough seven-kilometre run, starting at the village hall and winding its way through the village and back again to the hall.

Here, the competitors then start the two-lap bike course making up the total distance of 29km with each lap returning through the village. The competitors then faced a second 3.5km run.

Parsons once again dominated the female field as she left second-placed Paula Moseley in her wake at the start of the second run to finish in one hour 27 minutes 35 seconds, with Moseley second and Stratford’s Alison Bagnall third.

The men’s race was a close affair with the lead changing hands on several occasions throughout the three segments.

The eventual winner was Shaw Pye, from Kidderminster’s Amazing Feet Running Club, in an overall time of 1.18.35. Second was Luke Moseley (1.19.06) and third Joshua Varney (1.21.38). Evesham-based Danny Harris finished fifth in 1.22.08.
