SHIPSTON Primary School is celebrating its sporting success following a double victory.

Both the school’s ‘A and ‘B’ division teams were crowned champions of the Cotswold League, beating off stiff competition from 16 schools in the area.

Headteacher Christian Hilton said: “To win both divisions is an incredible achievement for the school and we are immensely proud of our players who have shown great sportsmanship throughout the competition whole.”

Shipston Primary has been playing floorball for over five years and popularity has grown over the years with at least 50 children taking part in the after-school club.

The Cotswold League has considerably grown in the last three years with a competitive girls league now formed.

In a fiercely-fought final, Shipston’s ‘A’ team achieved a 9-4 success over Newbold and Tredington.

Tobi Faulkner led the team to victory with a hat-trick performance making him the highest scorer in the boys’ table.

Meanwhile, Shipston’s ‘B’ team overcame Ilmington 11-3 to contribute to Shipston’s title-winning double.
