THE battle at the top of the Evesham & District Association Specsavers Division One remains close with Littleton Clubs and Littleton Positives winning their respective matches. Littleton Clubs notched up their 10th win of the season and remain unbeaten with over half the campaign gone with an 8-2 win against Bengeworth Red.
Michael and Dave Harvey both recorded maximums for Littleton Clubs while Steve Foster won one.
Littleton Positives kept up the pressure on the leaders with back-to-back 10-0 victories against Wyre Elite and Bengeworth Purple.
Tristan Gretton, Nick Mytton and Luke Moffat recorded maximums against Wyre Elite, while Moffat recorded another maximum against Bengeworth Purple along with Doug Payne and Rob Sinderberry.
After suffering their heaviest defeat of the season, Wyre Elite got back to winning ways with two victories and a draw.
Their two wins came against Littleton Aces 6-4 and Wyre Livewyre 7-3.
Choi Sze, To was in top form and recorded maximums in both matches, including defeating Mark Bilsborrow, who was unbeaten up until the match.
Choi Sze, To beat Bilsborrow 12-10, 11-4, 8-11, 11-5. Wyre Elite were denied the double over Wyre Livewyre after only managing a draw in the reserve fixture.
Bilsborrow got back to winning ways with another maximum for the season with team-mate Malcolm Macfarlane winning two of his matches.
Matt Hartwell won two matches for Wyre Elite, while both Graham Fisher and Keith Ferguson grabbed one game each.
Hartwell and Fisher secured the draw for Wyre Elite as they beat the team of Macfarlane and Bilsborrow 13-11, 11-9, 11-6.
Bengeworth Blue continue to impress this season and remain in the top half of the table after winning one and drawing one game in their last two fixtures. Their win came against Bengeworth Tigers in a narrow 6-4 victory. Grahame Brown won all of his matches for Bengeworth Tigers but it wasn’t enough to secure the full points as both Neil Anderson and Jaspreet Singh won two games each with Mike Prior winning one.
Anderson and Singh teamed up in the doubles and secured full points with a five-set victory against Brown and Stuart Greene 11-6, 9-11, 3-11, 11-7, 11-6. Bengeworth Blue were denied a second successive victory as they only managed a 5-5 draw against Bengeworth Blades.
No-one was able to record a maximum for their team as Margaret Dignum and Singh won two games each for Bengeworth Blue, while Craig Norledge and Charlie Loh took two wins for Bengeworth Blades.
Elsewhere, Bengeworth Tigers gained two successive 6-4 wins over Bengeworth Red and Bengeworth Blades. Kington Bulldogs beat Bengeworth Red 7-3.
