BRETFORTON won the Wychavon Parish Games' The Bait Box angling after being runners-up for three of the last four years.

Adie Icke, Don West and Joe Chatterton scored eight points on the River Avon in cold, damp conditions as 13 parishes took part.

Offenham were second with 15 and 10lb 0oz, just ahead of Evesham Little Hampton with 11 and 4-7, Wick with 13 and last year's winners Crowle with 12.

Honeybourne, Badsey, Harvington, Broadway, Sedgeberrow, Hill and Moor, Wyre Piddle, Eckington and Evesham Bengeworth also competed.

The overall individual winner was Mark Quatermain from Offenham with 7-10 ahead of Leigh Gardner from Hill and Moor with 5½lbs and Steve Bowyer from Wick with 5-5.

Section A individual winner was West with 3½lbs while team-mate Chatterton got 2-4 to claim B and C went to Dave Underhill from Badsey with 5-4.

The two table tennis events are at St Egwin's Middle School, Evesham, on October 7.

Inkberrow are into the women's darts semi-finals.

Semi-finalists in the crib are Harvington, Bretforton, Inkberrow and either Crowle or Bredon.
