BROADWAY ace Sue Davies is off to this month's national championships after winning seven county titles.

The former England player and European championships silver medallist enjoyed success in the women's two-wood, four-wood and senior singles.

Davies teamed up with Amy Walters to secure the pairs county title and again in the triples along with Vicky Tucker.

Walters and Davies were joined by Joan Parfitt and Anne Green in claiming the fours as well.

Finally, the nationals also beckon for the Broadway star in the senior fours alongside Parfitt, Viv Hall and Pam Hinchliffe.

Broadway's women have qualified in the National Top Club competition and play in the last eight of the finals at Leamington in September.

Davies admitted: "I’m not sure whether any lady has previously won all five of the major county championships in one season so this could be a first within Worcestershire and possibly also nationally."

She started bowling for Broadway in 1995 and since turned out regularly for Worcestershire.

Davies has qualified to play in the national championships every year since 2000.

She was picked for the England team from 2007 until 2009 and from 2011 until 2015, winning silver in the European championships in 2009.

Davies, a medical secretary at Cheltenham General Hospital, also played in the Hong Kong Classic International competition in 2014 and won bronze in the women's pairs.
