SEDGEBERROW enjoyed double success at the Wychavon Parish Games.

They won the team trophy in the Schloetters cross-country for the second year running with less than 100 points from their six runners.

Sedgeberrow then won the Parsonson Planning Consultancy petanque with a 17-10 final win over Inkberrow.

Seventy runners from 13 parishes took part in the cross-country and the first home was Andy Train from Fladbury who had previously set out the course.

Fladbury were second team with 125 points ahead of Eckington in third with 142.

Ashton-under-Hill were fourth, just seven points behind, and Offenham fifth, only two ahead of Badsey in sixth.

Other parishes taking part were Inkberrow, Bretforton, Harvington, Broadway, Wick, Wyre Piddle and South Littleton.

In the petanque Sedgeberrow beat Honeybourne in the first semi-final 25-20 before Inkberrow defeated Ashton-under-Hill 17-10. 

Other parishes taking part were Fladbury, North and Middle Littleton, Broadway, Wyre Piddle, Badsey, Harvington, Wick, Bretforton, Eckington, Evesham Bengeworth, North and Lenchwick and Evesham North.

There is now a break in the one-day events until September but the knockouts all start within the next few weeks.
