KIDDERMINSTER remained on top of Birmingham League Division One after a winning draw against neighbours Bromsgrove.

Worcestershire’s Ben Twohig hit 11 fours and two sixes in a fine 93 while Herefordshire’s Alex Wilkinson took 5-52 in Kidderminster’s 232 all out.

Bromsgrove, led by 79 not out from Lewis Cordes, closed on 190-8 in reply to deny their local rivals victory.

Fourth-placed Shifnal piled up 311-6 against Barnards Green as Ross Aucott hit 92 not out, Ed Beard 84 and Steve Leach 65.

Worcestershire’s George Rhodes took 3-64 for Green and then scored 64 as they finished well short on 223-8 with Chad Brandrick claiming 4-70.

Struggling Brockhampton lost to third-placed Bridgnorth who were dismissed for 187 in the 50th over.

Dominic Badger (4-41) and Jamie McIlroy (3-40) combined well despite a half-century from Will Sparrow (52).

But Brockhampton were skittled for 86 as Adam Quiney picked up 6-30 and Sam Whitney 3-23.

Prerak Mankad took 8-28 as Ombersley collapsed to 78 all out in response to Kenilworth Wardens’ 144 all out in the Premier Division.

Ex-Worcestershire ace Gareth Andrew claimed 7-34 to take his total of league wickets to 25 during June while Harry Johnson hit 40 for Wardens.

Liam Gwynne scored 40 for second-from-bottom Ombersley but seven batsmen were dismissed without scoring as Mankad brushed them aside.

The only draw in the division was at Cherry Hill Road where Barnt Green posted 263-7 thanks to 94 from George Hargrave and 62 from Matthew Lamb who put on 130 for the fourth wicket.

Walsall finished short on 246-9 after Trevor Keen (63) and Billy Cox (63) added 136 for the second wicket.

Zain Ul-Hassan took 3-42 and Andy Sutton 3-60 for Green.

Harborne lead Division Two following a winning draw against Pershore.

Former Pune Warriors star Srikant Mundhe took his run tally in the last three innings to 518 with an undefeated 187 from 168 balls.

Kharan Bharaj added 55 as Harborne made their way to 309-5.

Pershore closed on 219-8 with 56 from Liam Ridings, 45 from Josh Hancock and 44 from Stephen Miles.

Andy Lloyd (3-13) and Tim Holland (3-50) starred with the ball for Harborne.

Coventry and NW had a three-wicket home win against Astwood Bank who closed on 202-8.

Rob West hit 80 for Bank while Harris Ikram took 5-55 for Coventry.

Maduranga Zoysa (43), Harry Horsley (42no) and Tarandeep Toor (40) shone with the bat for the city side while Dan Taylor bowled valiantly for Bank with 4-48.

A captain’s innings of 65 from veteran Jonathan Wright and 37 from Shafiq Ahmed helped Old Hill recover from 122-7 to 243 all out against Redditch with Haris Ali Mohammed (3-51) and Waqas Ali (3-67) bowling well.

Redditch began their innings with promise, reaching 91-2 before Oliver Mason (48) fell to Nigel Davenport (5-30).

Hill then tightened the screw, reducing Redditch to 204 all out.

Opening bowler Andrew Lightbown took 3-3 and Tom Stone 4-16 as Lichfield dismissed visiting Old Elizabethans for 109 at Collins Hill.

Top scorer for the Worcester side was Tom Goodwin with 17 before a second-wicket partnership of 81 between Joe Seager (55) and Jack Warren (48) set Lichfield on the way to a five-wicket win.

Amar Jawanda (3-18) took most wickets for OEs.
