OLD Elizabethans were thrashed by 101 runs against county rivals Redditch in Birmingham League Division Three at the Memorial Ground.

Despite a breezy 42 from opener Rizwan Chaudhry, Redditch slumped to 87-6 before a seventh-wicket stand of 92 between Timothy Fitch (72) and Haris Ali Mohammed (48) lifted them to 224-8 from 55 overs.

Alex Bastable (3-44) was responsible for Redditch’s early troubles.

But the best bowling came from Ghulam Moyhuddin (4-45) and Haleem Basharatt (3-13) as Worcester side OEs were blown away for 123.

A half-century from Isaac Leckie (50) and 47 from Aadim Din were the batting highlights for Moseley who reached 196-9 at Ombersley.

Former Worcestershire ace Gareth Andrew took his tally of wickets to 18 in the last three games with 5-35 but Ombersley, apart from Freddie Wynn (41), struggled with the bat against Usman Awan (5-33) and crashed to 140 all out.

Barnt Green remain in the bottom two despite a comfortable six-wicket win at Dorridge who they dismissed for 155.

Spinners Darrell Williams (4-44) and Neylan Chauhan (4-54) did the damage for Green before an unbeaten 65 from wicketkeeper George Hargrave kept them in touch with the sides above them.

The result of the match between the two sides relegated from the Premier Division at the end of last season went to form with Division One leaders Kidderminster handing out a 130-run defeat to struggling Brockhampton.

Kidderminster now lead second-placed Tamworth by 23 points.

Richard Kimberlin (53) and Worcestershire’s Ben Twohig (41) helped the Chester Road side to 256-9 with Dominic Badger taking 4-85.

But Brockhampton had little answer to Charlie Stainforth (4-15) and Twohig (4-49) after opener Ian Bullock (51) had been dismissed at 100-5.

Brockhampton were finally all out for 126 and remain in the relegation zone.

Wicketkeeper Tom Hill top scored with 44 as Bromsgrove closed on 208-9 against Barnards Green with Worcestershire all-rounder George Rhodes taking 3-66.

An opening stand of 105 between Ryan Tongue (58) and Adam Wiffen (54) set up an easy five-wicket win for Green with more than three overs to spare.

Pershore remain handily placed in Division Two even though they were held to a winning draw by county rivals Astwood Bank.

Chris Miles (78) and Chris Ridings (40) saw Pershore to 247-9 with Jake Price taking 4-60 and Dan Taylor 3-50.

In reply, Tom Underhill top scored with 81 but Pershore were unable to take the final wicket with the home side finishing on 184-9 with Taylor Pugh taking 3-38 on his return from injury.
