EVESHAM United legend Paul West has stood down from the board of directors at Redditch United.

The 47-year-old managed the Robins to the Southern League Division One Midlands title in 2008 and an FA Cup first round proper tie against Torquay United the following season.

Redditch-based West stood down from a second stint in charge of Evesham in 2013 before being invited on to the board at the Valley Stadium in August 2016.

He steps aside citing business commitments but will continue to have an involvement with the Reds’ junior section.

“After being in football for as long as I have through playing, coaching and managing, it was fantastic to experience to be involved at a club at board level. I learned a lot and wish the club the best for the future,” said West.

“I did the best I could for the club and the nice thing has been meeting people, particularly from the local area that I might not have otherwise known. That opportunity was something I really enjoyed.”

West’s departure leaves majority shareholder and chairman Chris Swan, Matt Dormer, Gary Barak and recently-appointed managing director Jacintha Hodgson as United’s remaining directors.

Meanwhile, Evesham United has announced frozen ticket prices for the 2018-19 season.

Season tickets, which will be available next month, remain at £140 for adults and £95 for concessions with reserved seating available for an extra £10.

Standard admission will again be priced at £9 for adults, £6 for concessions and £2 for under-16s.
