EVESHAM United strengthened their Southern League Division One West play-off quest with a 4-0 romp at Shortwood United.

Top scorer Adam Mann bagged two goals in three first-half minutes last night after Mat Liddiard nodded the Robins in front on 21 minutes in Gloucestershire.

Fourth-placed Evesham, bidding for a third play-off spot in the last four years, completed the scoring two minutes from time when loan forward Olly Mehew marked his first start for the club with a fine finish.

The Robins are likely to require more points from the final two games to secure their top-six place and they head to Mangotsfield United in 16th on Saturday (3pm).
