NOT even the return of three senior stars could prevent Littleton going a third match without scoring in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Lichfield City.

Jordan Jones and recent recruits Robbie Bunn and Jack Cresswell were drafted back in but the ton Boys could not convert pressure into goals on a zippy 3G surface.

The visitors dominated early on and forced two full-stretch saves in the opening five minutes quickly followed by a drive that whistled past the post. Lichfield's first proper attack did not arrive until the 40th minute but it provided what proved to be the only goal of the game.

Tom Howard was sent down the left and his precise centre was powered home by Debert Massamba whose header gave keeper Brendon Bunn no chance.

The second half saw Littleton stay on the front foot but they were unable to make the breakthrough.

The closest they came was a point-blank header from a corner by Lewis Clarke which Adam Jenkins somehow pushed over the bar.

The games come thick and fast now with Littleton hosting Walsall Wood on Thursday (7.45) and Heath Hayes on Saturday (3pm) before travelling to Leicester Road on Tuesday (7.45).
