THE first shoot of 2018 at Childswickham Gun Club got off to a great start.

The HRS Challenge Trophy was shot in tribute to one of the club’s founder members and village resident Herbert Sandalls alongside the MSS all-rounders cup cup part one.

The trophy over 20 targets at the top of the leaderboard involved Dave Andrews, Paul Colley and Sean Perry with all three missing just one target towards the end.

Andrews dropped the last target on the lay-out to leave Colley and Perry tied on 19/20.

After a tense sudden-death shoot-off Perry lifted the trophy.

Twenty more sporting targets were also strongly contested and high guns of the day with 35/40 were Andrews, Colley and Richard Taylor.

Second was club chairman David Galbraith on 34/40 with Danny Andrews and Phil Clarke third on 33/40.

The next shoot will be for the Ray Marsden Memorial Trophy on Sunday, February 25.
