ELEVEN goals and a first-half floodlight failure made for an eventful night but Evesham United’s home woe continued.

Ben Stephens put Stratford in front but a Christian Tudorache own goal followed by Adam Mann’s opportunistic strike put the Robins in front within eight minutes.

The joy was short lived as Jazz Luckie’s brace made it 3-2 to Town before a generator fault in the 22nd minute prompted a delay of quarter of an hour.

Stephens scored the goal of the night with a dipping Ronaldo-style free-kick across Sam Gilder and when Luckie brought up his hat-trick three minutes after half-time it looked all over for Evesham.

Substitutes Lewis Powell and Carl Brown notched in back-to-back minutes, the latter with his first touch, to give the hosts hope but despite a manful effort, Luckie’s fourth sealed the deal prior to Edwin Ahenkorah prodding in a stoppage-time gift.

Stephens was brought down on the left edge of the box by Ashley Williams but dusted himself down to guide in a swirling free-kick off the underside of the crossbar in the fourth minute.

There was barely time for Stratford to celebrate when Jordan Bryan’s centre was turned into his own net by Tudorache under pressure from Greg Peel.

Evesham's pressing earned them the lead with Town keeper Louis Connor’s hashed clearance picked up by Mann who stepped into the box and his rival's right before driving in with ease.

With both teams still suffering from the jitters, visiting skipper Justin Marsden pinched possession and fed the irrepressible Stephens who jinked his way through before unselfishly touching to Luckie who could not miss from six yards.

Stratford’s third came from a more direct route as Michael Taylor flicked on for Luckie to outmuscle his marker and fire inside Gilder’s left upright.

After the enforced break, Stephens ensured Ashley Williams again paid the ultimate price for a foul on the other side of the box.

The ex-Kettering playmaker blasted a delightful dipping straight effort over the wall and into the top far corner from 25 yards with less than half an hour played.

Edgy defending continued to prevail with half chances at either end but Stratford’s fifth arrived when Luckie got a telling touch on a clipped ball from Stephens that Lewis Binns had looked likely to cut out just after the break.

United kept plugging away and Mann was denied by a James Hancocks goal-line clearance having been played in by Powell just past the hour.

More scruffy defending led to Evesham’s third as Mann volleyed back into the danger zone for Powell to tap in.

Brown was introduced straight after and then made things interesting within 60 seconds, crashing in from Powell’s unselfish touch from another Mann centre from the right.

It was game on but Stratford still carried a threat with Taylor regaining his footing from a clumsy challenge in the box before driving fractionally over from an acute angle.

Evesham's golden chance to level came with 12 minutes left but Brown, arriving late, missed his connection in front of goal before clearing the crossbar after the loose ball had ricocheted back into his path.

The last rites were read with five minutes left as Luckie attempted to rival team-mate Stephens for goal of the night.

After receiving the ball from Taylor, Luckie turned Leroy Odiero inside out before lashing low into Gilder’s bottom far corner, prompting applause from both sets of supporters.

Ahenkorah rounded off the scoring, gliding through two soft challenges before rolling past Gilder.

The result marked Evesham’s third straight home defeat in all competitions and fifth reverse at the Jubilee this term.
