A TEXAS scramble at The Vale Golf Club senior captain's day was won by Gerry Clayton, Ian Phillips, Keith Davies and Mike Dean.
Sixty-seven players enjoyed warm, sunny conditions on the refashioned International Course with a number of challenging variations.
The lakes came into play and there was a particularly tricky par three with a 200-yard carry over rough and water.
Andy Struthers, Tony Townsend, Mike Daniels and Rob Sharp were second while Geoff Browne, Steve Kirby, Bernie Liberman and Bill Ellis finished third.
Senior captain Derek Lambert thanked the organisers.
The prizes for nearest the pin went to Les Cosnett, Stuart Crowther, Patrick Staines and Lambert.
The Vale's lady captain Audrey Sidwell took the honours in the Silver Division in the final stableford of the summer season.
The autumnal conditions made it a challenge to score points.
Sidwell scored 32 points ahead of Deb Smith on 31.
The Bronze Division was topped by Anthea Duckett with 30 on countback from Margaret Houlcroft.
Carole Lavis won the Copper Division with 32 from Cheryl Senior on 28.
