VISITING trio Glynne Hall, Gill Boase and Les Turbutt claimed the bragging rights from a 14-team field at Evesham Golf Club’s Three Ball Alliance Open.
Leominster’s Hall, Boase and Turbutt finished four clear of the highest-ranked of four home teams Dee Machin, Angela Fletcher and Sue Taylor (69).
Another Evesham side, comprising Lesley Kewley, Penny Osborne and Margaret Williams, took third spot on countback with 68, while Eunice Allen, Marlene Billings and Dinah Wood won the front nine.
Sally Fry, Pearl Winchester and Pat Stone of Vale and Ombersley took the back nine and Eve Callaghan from Lilley Brook was nearest the pin.
Spirits remained high throughout despite the event falling on the only wet day of the week, Thursday.
A raffle raised £125 for the captain’s charity, The Acquired Brain Injury Trust, with special thanks extended to organisers Patsy Brumage, Pat Saville and Gil Smith.
