NINE-year-old motorbike racer Max Feeney from Pershore is celebrating his first national wins.

He was first in all three races for his engine size category in a round of the National Pitbike Series at Whilton Mill, near Daventry, and finished fourth overall in the open class.

Against children aged from 11 to 14 in the British Supermoto Championship Feeney has endeavoured to keep improving this season.

With four rounds left of the 2017 competition his aim is to be the youngest rider to stand on the podium at a British Supermoto race.

Feeney raced motocross in his early days and had some good results but then moved onto mini motos due to the harsh British winters and wanting to continue riding all year round.

He is also working with the Simon Andrews Fund For Injured Riders set up in memory of the Evesham rider who died after a crash at the North West 200 in Northern Ireland three years ago.
