YOUNG Tommy Boorman scored his first 100 in adult cricket at just 12 years of age.
He achieved the feat playing for Dumbleton thirds in a Cheltenham, Gloucester and Forest League match against Down Hatherley.
Boorman, who also plays for Gloucestershire under 12s, had previously scored 85 and 81 for the team but this was the first time he had passed the magical three figures.
He finished on 120 off 122 balls as Dumbleton won a rain-affected game.
The game also marked the beginning of Dumbleton’s festival week when they play seven games in eight days, including against the MCC, and finish with a ladies’ champagne breakfast on Sunday morning.
Dumbleton thirds captain on the day Kevin Emery said: “It was a fantastic knock from Tommy.
“He played shots all round the wicket against some good bowling and to do it on the first day of our festival week with so many of his friends and family watching made it even more special.”
