EVESHAM Youth Angling Club’s newly-formed team finished second on their debut in the Junior National Angling Championships at Tunnel Barn Farm near Warwick.
Captain Callum Jennings also finished second overall in last Saturday’s match, weighing in with 31 kilos.
The six-man squad of Jennings, Dan Chalk, Harry Golder, Harry Lewis, Joe Cook and Mike Cross bagged 38 points and were runners-up in an eight-strong field.
They finished five points behind the eventual winners, Sensas A4.
The competition attracted youth anglers from around the country and is prestigious in the fishing field.
Tunnel Barn Farm is a fishery in the village of Shrewley in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside.
