EVESHAM United boss Paul Collicutt has snapped up two new players and hopes to nail down the bulk of his squad before the start of pre-season training.

Striker Greg Peel joined the Robins on Tuesday night after Evesham-based former Cheltenham Town youngster Jordan Lymn put pen to paper last Friday.

Peel, 22, was at Larkhall last season and counts Fleetwood Town, Carlisle United and Irish outfit Waterford United among his former clubs.

Collicutt said: “Greg came to my attention at Larkhall last season and is a great signing for the club.

“I watched him three times last season and he impressed me every time.

“Greg played against us last season and caused us more problems than any other striker in the league.

“Our supporters will take to him immediately. He will become a firm favourite with everyone at the club.”

Lymn can play on the left or right side of defence and the 19-year-old is keen to prove a point in Southern League Division One South and West, according to the Evesham boss.

“Jordan is a local lad who approached us, which was a positive thing, and he handled himself very professionally,” said Collicutt.

“We signed him last Friday and it’s always good to have some local lads in the squad.

“He’s very keen to play a part and has a point to prove after being released by Cheltenham.”

Lymn has previously had loan spells at Bishop’s Cleeve, Shortwood United and North Leigh.

Collicutt plans to run the rule over a couple of trialists when the Robins return to training on Thursday, June 29.

“I am hoping to have the bulk of the squad in place before we start pre-season training in a fortnight,” he said.

“I have never enjoyed this time of the season since I got into football because you never know what is happening from one week to the next.

“It’s a crazy period and probably the worst part of the season because an awful lot of stuff goes on.”

Collicutt praised physiotherapist Peter Sollis who is leaving the Jubilee Stadium to take up a full-time position with Kidderminster Harriers’ academy.
