RICHARD Tate topped Division One as 80 men fought for medals at Broadway Golf Club.

The course was in superb condition and the glorious weather gave all players the ideal start to the day.

Tate found tremendous form in Division One, bringing in 67 nett and a lowest gross of 71 to take lead position.

Also with 67 points but narrowly missing out on a countback were second-placed Les Carter and third-placed Chris Hands.

George Gavin shot an impressive 69 nett to clinch first place in Division Two ahead of Ken Major, who equalled the score but lost out to second spot on a countback. Arthur Gray was third with a 71 nett.
