BOURTON Roadrunners’ juniors achieved many personal-best times in the Gloucestershire AAA Track and Field Championships at the Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham.

Emily Field did extremely well to follow the leaders in the under 17 girls’ race for second place overall and a silver county medal and personal best time of 5:08.

In the under 15 boys’ race, Jake Astor keeps improving with an excellent third place in 5:08 and a bronze county medal, beating his previous best of 5:57.

The under 11s were split into two groups.

In the U11 girls’ race, Abigail Barnett came third in the first race in 2:17 which equalled her time last year.

She was closely followed by new member Phoebe Alvin in her first race for the club in fourth in an impressive 2:17.

In the second race, Arthur Quli ran well in fourth in 2:22 followed by Lucas Hartley, fifth in a very good 2:34 despite running with a bad cold.

A great run from Noah Williams saw him finish sixth in 2:43 to smash his previous personal best time of 2:59.

In the under 13 girls, Olivia McMorris and Isabel Dennett did extremely well to achieve their personal bests with an impressive last 100 metres from McMorris.

McMorris came sixth in 6:07 and Dennett, seventh in 6:21, both with a previous best of 6:47 and 6:48.

George Quli was their only representative in the under 13 boys and did very well despite just moving into this age group.
