EVESHAM United must treat the last 13 games of the season as “cup finals” to cement their play-off place, according to manager Paul Collicutt.

The Robins, who travel to fourth-from-bottom Yate Town tomorrow (3pm), lie in second place in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West.

However, Evesham have failed to pick up wins in their last two home games, drawing 1-1 with North Leigh and 2-2 with Paulton Rovers last Saturday.

And Collicutt insists his side’s performances must improve if they are to keep their promotion bid on track.

“If you said to me at the start of the season we would be second in the table at this point I would have taken that,” he said.

“But we have got 13 big games left and they will all be cup finals.

“If we want to finish in the play-offs we have got to do better than we did in our last two home games.”

Collicutt admitted Evesham had not been helped by a string of injuries with forward Paul Fahy (groin) and winger Carl Brown (hamstring) both set to miss the trip to Yate.

However, he hopes captain Linden Dovey and midfielder Ashley Williams will be back after overcoming an ankle problem and dead leg respectively.

Striker Adam Mann, who fell through a roof at work, could also make a return.

Collicutt added: “We will go there in confident mood but we have got to produce the goods.”
