EVESHAM United lost 5-1 to League Two new boys Cheltenham Town at the Jubilee Stadium in a pre-season battle of the Robins.

Watched by 491 fans, last season's National League champions were three goals up by half-time through Danny Wright, James Dayton and Billy Waters.

Dan Holman added a fourth goal for Cheltenham before Carl Brown hit back for Evesham just before the hour mark.

The hosts lost Liam Harding and Jacob Sloggett to injury with Amari Morgan-Smith completing the scoring from the penalty spot.

Evesham host Stratford Town on Saturday (2pm) and Gloucester City next Tuesday (7.45pm) in friendlies.

The Robins have been drawn away to Northern Premier League side Market Drayton in the FA Cup preliminary round on August 20.

They will visit Shortwood United in the FA Trophy preliminary round on October 8.

The Jubilee Stadium hosts a charity clash between Growers United and the Liverpool and Manchester United Legends on Sunday (3.30pm).
