THE Worcestershire Open pro-am returned for its second year at Cleobury Mortimer.

With glorious sunshine and the course prepared to perfection, the day was set for all to enjoy.

Twenty-one professionals from around the county and further afield brought teams to battle it out.

The scoring was a true testament of how much the course has matured over the years with just one professional under-par.

David Finch, Adam Whiting, Chris Mole, Tom Warbrick and Matt Jones all shared individual third place with a one over-par 35 points.

The Worcestershire’s Ryan Corbett finished level on 36, which was enough to give him second place outright.

The day belonged to Daniel Clee, of Evesham, as he put on a faultless display on his way to a three under-par 39.

Despite making just one point on the first hole, Jones from Hertfordshire’s Moor Park and his group of Cleobury members won the team event on 81 points on count-back from Bransford players.

Cleobury golfers also managed third place with Cleeve Hill from Cheltenham fourth, Bewdley Pines fifth and Bromsgrove sixth.

The event was backed by Cleobury member Andy Smith, of Kidderminster Self Storage.
