HOSTS Pershore Town beat Stafford Town 2-1 in Midland League Division One.

Dominant Town went close through Pawel Tomczak and Steve Webb before Gareth Evans headed home in the 37th minute.

The lead was increased three minutes later when Tomczak created space and fired a right-footed shot into the net from 22 yards.

Tomczak missed a great chance and, although Spencer Gunnell scored from close range for the visitors after 68 minutes, 14th-placed Pershore held on.

Promotion-chasing Droitwich Spa were held 2-2 at lowly Knowle in Division Two with James Lemon scoring twice to make it 40 goals for the season.

Worcester’s Perrywood drew 4-4 with high-flying Smithswood Firs in a Division Three thriller.

James Holloway (2), Ryan Shemwell and Shaquille Tulloch scored.

Inkberrow beat Burntwood Town 5-2 through goals from Josh Walker (2), Callum Cook, Billy Coughlin and Alex Griffiths.

Reece Shilvock netted twice as Stourport Swifts lost 3-2 at home to Lye Town in a midweek Premier Division encounter.
