MANAGER Paul Collicutt insists there is still “plenty of room for improvement” as in-form Evesham United take on Larkhall Athletic at the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

The Robins kept their play-off hopes alive with two wins away at top-five sides, beating Taunton Town 1-0 last Saturday and Swindon Supermarine 2-0 on Tuesday.

However, with three homes games in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West to come, Collicutt said it was important his eighth-placed Evesham side continued to drive standards up.

“With Taunton unbeaten in 15 and Swindon unbeaten in 16, it was a big ask but fair play to the lads as they worked really hard for one another and proved they can match anyone in this league,” Collicutt said.

“We have done an awful lot right in those two games but that won’t mean anything if we don’t get three points against Larkhall.

“The lads are playing with confidence but they know there is plenty of room for improvement and we are determined to put in positive performances between now and the end of the season.”

Evesham have strengthened their squad with the signing of Karnell Chambers on a youth loan from Cheltenham Town.

The winger could make his debut against 16th-placed Larkhall, who have defeated Evesham in their last two meetings including last season’s play-off semi-finals.

“We have got our work cut out,” said Collicutt, who will have Carl Brown and Jacob Sloggett back available after they recovered from knocks.

“So we have to make sure we turn up in the right frame of mind and put in the same amount of effort we put in during our last two games.”
