WORCESTERSHIRE youngster Rachel Egan won gold at the prestigious British Indoor Rowing Championships at London’s Olympic Velodrome.
In the year seven girls’ category and against another 11 competitors, Egan raced over two minutes, with the winner covering the greatest distance.
The Evesham Rowing Club member took the gold medal after doing 512 metres at 266m at rate 33 in the first minute and 246m at rate 32 in the second minute.
With great attention to technique, Egan beat all her fellow competitors, adding 20m to her personal best.
Second place rowed 495m and third rowed 493m.
