EVESHAM United stretched their unbeaten record to eight matches with an outstanding 3-0 victory over leaders Cinderford Town in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West.

The Foresters arrived at the Jubilee Stadium having lost only once this season, but could not cope with Evesham’s work rate and the windy conditions.

The hosts were without the injured Linden Dovey and the suspended Ashley Williams. Cinderford’s starting eleven contained four Evesham old boys.

Evesham took the lead on the quarter hour when Liam Harding’s cross found Adam Mann whose header looped over Cinderford stopper Alex Harris and into the net, helped by the strong wind which held up the ball.

The Robins doubled their lead in the 33rd minute. A Clayton Green pass found Lance Smith whose superb finish from just inside the box gave Evesham breathing space.

The second half continued to be spoilt by the wind. However, Evesham looked the most likely to score and they did in the 66th minute.

Nathan Modest marked his first start finished well with a fine shot into the bottom corner.

Evesham ran down the clock against a side who did not create any clear chances. Evesham are up to eighth in the table, five points outside the play-offs.

The Robins travel to sixth-placed Swindon Supermarine on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Evesham: Sawyer, Wood, Stanley, Harding (Binns 37), Sysum, Wellon, Modest (Sloggett 70), Brown, Mann, Smith, Green. Not used: Wilson, Dovey.
