WORCESTER Swimming Club ace Tazmin Pugh broke another Great Britain junior record competing in Canada.

The 15-year-old from Pershore secured more medals at the Ontario junior international meet in Toronto to extend her success with British Swimming’s World Class Podium Potential Programme.

Pugh broke Jemma Lowe’s British 100-metre butterfly record for under-16s and claimed a bronze medal in 58.90 seconds.

It was the teenager’s fourth British best since August and propelled her to first in the European rankings.

Pugh then claimed bronzes in the 200m butterfly in two minutes 8.99 seconds and the 400m freestyle in 4.09.30.

On the final day, she secured another third place in the 800m freestyle in 8.38.71.

A tired Pugh missed out on a medal in the 200m backstroke, clocking 2.10.35.

She also holds 16 West Midlands records after her fourth international meet of the year.

The Ellesmere College pupil has been invited to compete for Team GB in Texas, USA, and in Belgium for future events.
