WORCESTERSHIRE Cricket have launched their England and Wales Cricket Trust Small Grant Scheme 2016 supported by Waitrose.

They have £45,000 to give away to local clubs, who can apply for between £1,000 and £4,000 each.

Last year through the ‘Get The Game On’ campaign and the scheme, the board increased the number of games played by 21 per cent.

The scheme will support small changes for clubs to improve their long-term sustainability or increase the amount of fixtures played.

The board aim to make an impact for the 2016 season so there is a quick turnaround.

Clubs will be asked to provide 10 per cent partnership funding and those who received a scheme grant in 2015 are not eligible.

Key schemes include covers, social spaces, energy and water consumption and flood defence measures.

Various other schemes, including large-scale pavilion and communal changing facility projects, are ineligible.

Applications can be sent to caroline.busby@wccc.co.uk by Friday, January 22.
