PERSHORE women have clinched the 2015 South West touch title after their sixth regional tournament triumph at Bromyard.

The win gave Pershore a clean sweep of tournament victories and a maximum 60-point haul, which put them seven points ahead of nearest rivals, Bromyard, in the Midlands Ladies Touch League regional competition.

Pershore are in the top four seeded teams going into the final of the three Midlands-wide Super Sundays on November 15, when 16 teams from across the whole region (SW and NE together) will compete at Droitwich to decide the overall Midlands Ladies Touch League champions.

Pershore Ladies have won both of the Super Sundays so far and hold top spot in the overall Midlands championship.

At Bromyard on Sunday, in misty conditions, Pershore won five of their matches and drew one in the seven-team round robin event.

Fizz Bewley, chairman of Pershore Rugby Club’s touch section, said: “The standard of touch rugby has improved.”
