PERSHORE have won all five Midlands Ladies’ Touch League South West tournaments after triumphing at Redditch.

They have 50 points and are well placed going into the final decisive rugby tournament on Sunday, November 1, at Bromyard, who are their nearest rivals on 44.

Redditch have 40, Luctonians 31, Ross 31, Greyhounds 27, Berry Hill 17 and Bredon 14.

Pershore are still in the top four seeded teams going into the final of the three Midlands-wide Super Sundays on Sunday, November 15.

Sixteen teams from across the region will compete at Droitwich to decide the overall Midlands Ladies’ Touch League champions.

Pershore have won both of the Super Sundays so far this season — at Old Laurentians in June and Stratford in July — so they currently hold top spot in the overall Midlands championship as well as the south-west competition.

At Redditch, Pershore won all of their pool matches and then drew 0-0 with Redditch and won 1-0 against Bromyard.

Tries were scored by Emmie Bewley (4), Fizz Bewley, Emma Field, the town team’s player-of-the-tournament Teresa Crowley (3) and Verity Farr (2).

Touch rugby training is at Pershore every Wednesday at 7.30pm or on Sundays at 10.30am.

Anyone aged 13 and over can come along and have a go with the first three sessions for free. Contact Fizz Bewley on 01905-381080 for details.
