LITTLETON won the Midland League Division One Vale derby 4-1 against Pershore Town at Five Acres.

An even first half saw Pershore’s Pete Jenvey hit the bar and George Coley’s header from the rebound hooked off the line.

At the other end, goalkeeper Andy Yarnold saved well on a greasy surface.

But Pershore had Craig Connor sent off for a professional foul, with the resulting penalty saved by Yarnold.

Littleton led 1-0 at the time through Joey Smith and then dominated, scoring three more before Town netted a late consolation.

Tim Beattie, Dougie Wallace and Jamie Clarke were also on target for the hosts.

Pershore will visit the Premier Division high-fliers Wulfrunians in the FA Vase on Saturday and Littleton travel to Gornal Athletic (both 3pm).

Town also lost 1-0 at unbeaten leaders Coventry United last weekend to a 70th-minute winner despite their best display of the season.

Pershore were again reduced to 10 men when Joe Walsh received a harsh second yellow card before Coventry also had a man sent off late on.

Third-placed Littleton beat Coventry Copsewood 3-0 last weekend, with Clarke (2) and Andy Sheppard scoring.

Pershore Town host a charity match on Sunday between Growers United and the West Brom Former Players Association (2pm).

Tickets are available from the club, Birdseye Sports in Evesham, Pershore Town Council or Pershore Library, by ringing 01386-556902 or e-mailing bookings@pershoretownfc88.org.
