MORETON-in-Marsh sidecar driver Wayne Lockey and passenger Mark Sayers were hit by their first engine failure in five years.

The duo qualified in 11th place at Silverstone for the Formula Sidecar Racing Association F2 British Championship meeting.

Lockey was unhappy with his start in the opener, but made up for it and secured sixth place from an exciting battle.

After the second race was brought forward, Lockey and Sayers rushed to the circuit and settled in well.

However, their engine blew on the ninth lap, leading to a rare failure to finish and meaning a rebuild is now required.
