HONEYBOURNE’S Jones Dorling Racing and rider Ashley Beech went to Cartagena, Spain, for four days of testing before the National Superstock 1000 Championship.

The team worked closely with engine builders MSS Kawasaki during the winter.

Before posting fast lap times within one-tenth of the superstock lap record, the first two days were spent trying different settings.

Team manager Chris Jones said: “I think we showed our potential in 2014.

“Ashley improved his lap times by more than one second at every circuit and finished the season with a fourth place at Brands Hatch, less than one second behind the Factory Honda.

“We are aiming to build on this and I am confident we have the team, rider and bike capable of being a regular feature on the podium.”

The team have a fundraising race night on Saturday at Evesham United’s Jubilee Stadium and everyone is welcome from 7.30pm.

The championship starts on Monday, April 6, at Derbyshire’s Donington Park.
