FLANKER Sam Betty has signed a new contract to remain at Worcester Warriors.

Betty, who is just 10 matches short of becoming a Warriors centurion, has been an influential performer under Dean Ryan, enjoying the best form of his career under the Warriors director of rugby.

He played 27 times for the club during the 2013/14 campaign and has racked up an impressive 15 tries in 15 matches this season.

He moved to Sixways in 2011, also continues to excel as a club representative off the pitch in his role as Warriors’ Acorns player ambassador.

Betty said: “I am delighted to commit my future to a club which has grown enormously over the past 18 months. There is a clear direction at Warriors and I firmly believe that we are on a pathway to success.

“The players who have experienced the lows here really do recognise the progression we have made and I feel there are some very positive times ahead.

“I am focused on helping the Club win promotion back to the Aviva Premiership and being part of an exciting journey."

Ryan said: “Sam is another player who embodies the culture we have endeavoured to build at this club and I am delighted he has committed to our long-term future.”

“His presence on the pitch is something which cultivates other players and he has continued to illustrate his qualities amongst a very competitive back-row.”
