BOURTON Roadrunners' Claire Harrison won the Enigma Christmas Double's women's category.

She ran two marathons in consecutive days for the first time, clocking three hours 45 minutes and 3.41.

Club-mate Steve Edwards was first overall with times of 3.14 and 3.21.

Roadrunners' Steph Holton and Catherine Wheeler opted for the Andy Reading Memorial 10-kilometre race at Bicester.

Holton was second women's veteran over 45 in 46.14 and Wheeler recorded a personal best of 46.32.

Edwards completed another double for his 667th and 668th marathons at Folkestone in 3.31 and 3.23.

A strong headwind for half the course made it one of the toughest doubles he had tackled.

In Stratford AC’s Not the Roman IX on a 12km loop from Tiddington via Loxley, Nigel Frith was first home for Bourton in 52.43 followed by Harrison (54.15), Susan Hunt (56.01) and Brian Hulcup (59.46).

Liz Hulcup was second women's veteran over 60 in 1.02.59 and Lynn Hudson ran 1.08.36.

Roadrunners meet every Tuesday from 7pm and Thursday from 6.30pm at Bourton Leisure Centre.

A beginners' group is held periodically and new members are welcome.
