STOW-on-the-Wold Rugby Club slipped off the top of Southern Counties North after an off-day at Aylesbury.

The Cotswold side crashed 36-0 at the fifth-placed hosts after shipping six tries and are three points behind new table-toppers High Wycombe.

Stow look to return to winning ways before Christmas when they host mid-table Bicester on Saturday (2.15pm).

At Aylesbury, the visitors were under pressure up front and gave away the ball when in possession.

A missed clearance was run back and an overlap provided the opening converted try early on.

Weak tackling cost Stow two more tries and the home side clinched the bonus point before half-time after a five-metre scrum.

Stow competed better in the second-half but conceded again with Aylesbury down to 14 men and allowed a final try through the centre.

Chipping Norton beat mid-table rivals Slough 29-22 in the Berks/Bucks and Oxon Premier Division.
