ENGLAND’S and Worcestershire’s Andrew Walters was defeated by Scotland’s Iain McLean in the knockout stages of the World Champion of Champions in New Zealand.
McLean defeated the Broadway star 9-2, 10-4, to move into the semi-finals against David Holt.
He beat the Aussie 9-4, 3-8, 3-2, before taking the final 6-5, 11-7, against Malaysia’s Mohammad Fairus Abd Jabal.
Walters secured his path to the knockout stages with seven victories in 10 group matches, ensuring a second-place finish behind Holt.
