EVESHAM recorded an emphatic 79-5 victory over Five Ways Old Edwardians at Ash Lane.

The Vale side have won their last five league and cup matches and are riding high in second position, having only conceded eight points in the last four Midlands Four West (South) games.

Evesham host fourth-placed Kings Norton on Saturday (2.15pm) as they look to close the gap on leaders Rugby Lions.

Meanwhile, Pershore suffered a 24-12 defeat at home to title-chasing Dunlop.

But they are fourth in Midlands Three West (South) after an impressive start to the season and will look to get back to winning ways at struggling Harbury on Saturday.

Bredon Star were unable to build on the previous week’s victory as they were well beaten 26-0 by Old Richians.

Star remain ninth in Gloucester Division One and prepare for a home game against fellow strugglers Southmead this weekend.
