TEMPLE Guiting trainer Jonjo O’Neill could run Holywell and Taquin Du Seuil in the Betfair Chase at Haydock on Saturday, November 22.
He is considering a dual raid on the coveted Grade One over three miles after his Cheltenham Festival winners surfaced over the weekend.
Holywell was third in the Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase at Carlisle.
Taquin Du Seuil stepped up on a moderate seasonal bow at Newton Abbot to finish second in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.
O’Neill said: “I was happy enough with Taquin Du Seuil. He could have done with softer ground but at least we found out that he stays. He’ll go to the Haydock race now.
“I was delighted with Holywell. Over two-and-a-half miles, that ground was a bit hard on him.
“There’s a conditions race at Aintree but we might have to put him in the Betfair as well.”
Meanwhile, Wilberdragon (16-1) looks set for a hurdling career after taking Ascot’s United House Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race under 7lb claimer Charlie Deutsch.
“He is a nice, big, young horse, who needed a little time to strengthen up. He might go hurdling as he jumps for fun,” said Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon.
Other Cotswold winners arrived at Uttoxeter through Listen Boy (3-1 favourite) for Naunton’s Nigel Twiston-Davies and his jockey son Sam. Stow-on-the-Wold trainer Graeme McPherson enjoyed success at Wetherby with Trafficker (16-1).
