NIGEL Bussell won the Mike Emms compact sporting at Childswickham Gun Club.
The clay shoot, regarded by some as the best of the year, was well attended by members and guests, including Emms himself.
The 25-target sporting lay-out was made possible by the loan of traps and electronic equipment by Emily and Sean Perry from the neighbouring Cotswold shooting ground.
There was a wide range of sporting clays, including a bolting rabbit, long-range teal, crossing looper, overhead and driven targets.
Bussell topped the scoreboard in windy conditions and lifted the trophy with 20-25 followed by Dave Andrews (18-25) and Danny Andrews (17/25).
With 15 more English sporting targets, Bussell also took high gun of the day with a total of 31-40 ahead of Dave Andrews (30-40) and David Galbraith (29-40).
The charity pool shoot was won by Sean Perry. A club shoot will be on November 30.
