AN EXCITING start to Evesham’s winter competition season saw their junior head of the river provide 16 medals.
They welcomed 12 rowing clubs and ages from 11 to 18 in 30 events over the 2,000 metre upstream course from the rugby club to the boathouse.
The Evesham crews faced stiff opposition from talented squads.
Gold medals went to Becky Goodwin and Alex Lacey in the singles and the quad of Olivia Evans, Georgie Banton, Ariana Jones, Rachel Egan and cox Katie Griffiths.
The quad of Tom Lacey, Ed Bragg, Toby Ellis, James Edwards and cox Georgii Bragg claimed silvers.
Roanne Foister and Alex Edwards bagged bronze medals in their singles.
Foister earned her second bronze in her double with Sophie Evans.
Evesham now look forward to the Masters of the Avon and Senior Head over 4,000 m on Saturday, November 29.
