A BELOW-par performance from Pershore Town resulted in a 1-0 defeat to Lichfield City at the Winstanley King George V Stadium in Midland League Division One.
In a match of few chances, George Coley's header was scrambled away by the keeper's feet and Dave Edwards put a shot just wide from close range for Pershore.
Town keeper Andrew Yarnold made a fine one-handed save at full stretch to turn away a shot from the edge of the area on 40 minutes.
But he was beaten just before half-time with a 15-yard half-volley from Mark Rose that flew into the roof of the net.
Town travel to Hinckley United on Saturday in the league (3pm).
