HONEYBOURNE team Jones Dorling Racing and rider Ashley Beech finished the season with their best National Superstock 1000 Championship result.

After bad luck throughout the year, they secured fourth place in the finale at Brands Hatch.

Beech, 26, went from 11th quickest in practice to qualifying seventh on a dry track.

With light rain and tricky track conditions, the team went with a wet tyre on the front and dry on the back.

Beech moved up two places before dropping back in the 40-strong field.

But he battled with the leading group until flying into fourth in the eighth lap of 14 and eventually just missed out on the podium.

Team owner Chris Jones said: “Despite a great deal of bad luck this year, Ashley has beaten his lap times at every circuit by more than a second and definitely saved his best until last.

“We are pleased Ashley will be racing for us again in 2015 and, with this result, we know we can compete against the best and challenge for the title.”
